Dragons For Keeps

Part 2
“She’s waking up.”
“It’s about time were almost there!”
Cindy let out a groan it felt like her body was pulled and stretched, and beat up. She kept her eyes close because by the way her head was spinning the light would make it worse, “Where am I?” Cindy mumble out.
“Were in a cage headed to the palace,” she could feel something hard and scaly lift her head up, “If you open your eye’s you’ll feel better.”
Opening her eye’s she could see what look like a large lizard staring right at her, “Stay away!” Cindy shove it away and tried to stand on her feet to only fall on her face.
Another large black lizard shoved her face into Cindy’s, “Will you chill!” she shouted, “You’ve been turn into a dragon…”
She didn’t know what else she said, a DRAGON! What the heck! I can’t be, that only happens in fairy tales it’s not real. She thought, Cindy pushed up from the floor and found it was easier on all four to stand, her neck was longer, she look over to her bodied it was deep color of brown but there wasn’t a scale on her nor any wings. She had huge claws, her teeth were sharp and she found she had a fork tongue, “How did this happen!”
“Simple,” the black dragon spoke, “a wonderful person sent us here so we don’t have to live our wretched lives as humans.” she laughed and thump her tail. “This well teach my drunken parents to take me and my little pay check for granted.” After she said that, black hard scales started growing in places on her body. “Might as well introduce you to everyone,” she pointed to a gray dragon whose back had some scales growing out of her soft skin, “That’s Vanessa, she used to be a baby sitter hated the job. Then some gal came along and fix it for her,” Vanessa roll her sliver eyes, “She’s Ruth,” she pointed at a red dragon that was comforting a yellow crying dragon, “use to be a teenage star she got bored with it and wanted to do something more fun, which makes me mad cause she had it all. But she got sent here with us so that should teach her to shut up.” she had some red scales around her eyes but no where else, Ruth sighed and continue comforting the yellow dragon, “She’s Butterball.” the black dragon let out a cruel laugh.
At that moment the yellow dragon shake and yellow scales were popping out everywhere, “Her names not Butterball it’s Lou Ann, remember it.” Ruth growled at her.
“She’s fat, and yellow which makes the name Butterball perfect for her,” Lou Ann gave a small cry and more scales started appearing around her neck, “I’d watched it Ruth I’m a much larger and stronger dragon then you’ll ever be.” She headed butted Ruth in the side which made her and Lou Ann fall over, more scales grew around Ruth’s face. “I’ve save the best for last,” she turn away smacking Ruth in the face with her tail, “My name is Cassandra, nicknames Cassie know it and use it. What’s you’re name?”
“Cynthia you could call me that or you could you use Cindy I don’t care which.” Looking at Cassie almost her whole body was cover in scales, except for her face.
“Well that does it for meeting each other, I’m going to sleep so keep it down or else.” Cassie marched back into the corner and curled up.
What have I gotten myself into? Grandma’s going to have fit if I don’t come home, might as well see where were at.
Cindy went to the side of the bar cage and pulled back the tarp she was shocked to find clouds all around she couldn’t even see the ground. There was three chains attached to the cage and hooked onto three dragons up above two were blue and the other was orange. That’s when a white dragon slammed against the cage she stepped back letting the tarp flapped in the wind. The white dragon growled, “Stay in there, you’ll know where your going soon enough.” she pulled the tarp back in place.
I’m not doing that again, Cindy looked over at Ruby and Lou Ann they were busy trying to  comfort to each other, “So Cindy,” Vanessa moved closer to her, “what made you want to come here?”
“I didn’t want to come here, if I could I’d go back.” she nodded her head.
“None of us wanted to be here either,” She pointed at Ruth and Lou Ann, “except for Cassandra.” who was happily sleeping in the corner. “But I mean you must of agreed with that woman, that a different kind of world would be better.”
“Yeah.” I sighed I didn’t expect it to come true I thought it would be just another unanswered wish, I was always wishing and dreaming up better worlds.
“So what was so bad that you wanted to be somewhere else?” Her sliver eyes brighten up.
“My boyfriend broke up with me and my grandma was treating me very wrong.” her mind started to wander to how good it felt not to have be around them right now. That’s when she felt something hard start growing on her wrist it was a copper looking color. It stopped growing as soon as she stop thinking about her grandma. “What do think these scales mean?” Vanessa shrugged, “I mean if you look at us, none of us have all of our scales or any horns.” she turn her head to her back, “Aren’t dragons suppose to have wings?”
“Not all dragons have wings, or at least I think,” Vanessa laughed at herself, “but then again dragons aren’t real where we come from.”
“But if you notice every time Cassie called Lou Ann, that wicked name scales appeared on her.” I looked over and it seem she stopped crying.
“Maybe they only appear when we feel bad, or feel it’s best for us to be here.” Vanessa, stopped and sniffed, “You smell that it smells like grass.”
I took a deep whiff, “Yeah it does doesn’t, where do think were going?”
“They said that we were going to the queen’s palace, I wonder who she is.” Vanessa continue sniffing, “Smells like someones cooking chicken.”
“Hhhhmmmm,” the tantalizing smell filled the cage, “I haven’t eaten anything except that Wendy’s burger, I hope it’s good.”
The cage landed with a thud and the dragons smack the bottom of the cage , Cassie woke up then stood up and stared at the cage door. They were all nervous and scared none of them had any idea what was going to happen. The Tarp around the door fell to the ground we all flinched the sun was bright and we had to get use to light, then a dark green dragon’s face appeared, “Well hey there,” he open the cage door, “come out strangers!” he sounded happy and cheerful, but then again there once was a woman dress in purple who seem nice.
Cassie didn’t wait she stomped right out, Ruby patted Lou Ann, she quietly convince her to leave. Vanessa looked at me, “You coming?” I shook my head, “Well I’m going cause what other choice do we have.”
“Is that all of them Eden!?” she heard someone yell.
The green dragons face was back his blue eye’s scanned the cage and landed on Cindy, “Oh, come on little one it’ll be all right.” This dragon was even bigger than Cassie. “No one can harm you anymore.” She slowly stepped out, Eden back up letting her step out into the light.
It was amazing there was all different kinds of dragons everywhere, she notice everyone in the crowd had wings, horns, and they were all fully scaled. When Cindy crawled out of the cage they all gave out a cheer. They came rushing forward asking them so many different questions, that Cindy could hardly keep up she just hope her answers were right.
The Kingdom is surprising cool, there were different shops to buy food mostly raw meat though, there was some jewelry and even clothing stores. Funny she never thought a dragon would wear clothes, buildings were made out of rocks and what look like some mud, the roofs had a shingle look to them. Dragons were coming out of their shops and homes to wave at them as the crowd lead them up to the palace, a dirt road ran through the middle of the town.
The palace was made of white stones that was so smooth that it shine in the light of sun. The roof top of the towers were blue and so was the gate it had a huge golden dragon on the front gate. The door open from the middle splitting the golden dragon in half, then they lead us to the palace door that had two sliver dragons one on each door. It swung open and there is a long hall the white walls and the blue flooring was beautiful there was a long golden rug leading to another door. This door had four copper dragons on it.
Eden pushed himself up to the front of the crowd, he was waving at everyone getting them to be quiet, “Now I know were all excited but as we all know this is where we leave them,” a groan came from the crowd, “They have to get to know our queen so give them a chance and we’ll be able to see them again and chat.” the crowd began filing out, a little child dragon sat there and star at us. Eden went over and push her in the direction of the crowd, she ran off.
It was finally quiet now that everyone was gone, “Can your queen send up back home?” Cindy figure she should be quiet but she needed to know how to return home and she also wanted to be that veterinary, she had just one more year to go.
Eden look at me, “Go home, that’s how you all feel at first but trust me you’ll love it here we all do.” His blues eye’s lit up, “For those of you who don’t know my name is Eden, and you’ll soon be meeting our queen. The rule is that in her presence you must remain silent unless spoken to if you wish to ask something just bow and stay that way until she decides to let you speak.” He turns to the door, then took a deep breath orange flames shot from his mouth onto the door.
The copper dragons heated up to a bright red and each went to the middle of the door and grabbed on and it was like they were pulling open the door. It swung open and there in the middle of the room was a throne made of gold, the floor was made of copper and there was a huge round sliver rug on the floor. There was two very large black dragons standing beside the throne, there wings rested at there sides. They had on metal helmets which their horns poke out of the holes especially made for them, there breast plate was also made of metal with a way for there wings to fit perfectly, and they had metal going down there tails. They reminded Cindy of Rottweiler’s they look fit to kill, but the thing that made her burn with intense anger was the dragon sitting on the throne.
Her head was raise high a crown of gold sat lightly on her head, it was wrapped around her horns to keep it in place, it shine with sliver and copper sparkles. But the dragon sitting there was every shade of purple you could imagine she shine, and glimmered. There were three windows letting large amounts of sun light in, making her scales even more beautiful. Her wings were stretched out wide and her eyes which were the shade of violet stared at them arrogantly.
Eden stretched his wings then bowed before her, “You may speak, Eden.” her silky voice even though it was soft reached across the room.
“Thank you, your majesty,” Eden stood then moved showing us to her, “I have brought the new comers,” he nodded at Cindy and the others, “dragons,” he was addressing them, “This is our beloved queen…” Right when he said her name Cindy said it with him, “Aubrey.”
